In celebration of ScHoolboy Q’s album release entitled CrasHtalk, Spotify invited the artist’s biggest fans (those who him stream the most) to experience a Country Club takeover of The Lakes golf course in El Segundo. The rapper’s classic taste and enthusiasm for the sport was brought to life throughout the evening in thoughtfully curated elements. The featured pop-up “pro-shop” displayed custom branded golf balls, bucket hats, caps, and golf towels, allowing guests to go home with the gear needed for playing on the green. ScHoolboy Q also brought his game to the green, sharing his secret pro golf tips on how to putt and tee off the driving range in true hip hop fashion. While some guests explored the driving range and putting green with the artists, other guests enjoyed the caricature artist’s custom work. The evening closed with a surprise performance featuring tracks from his newly released album, giving his biggest fans the ultimate first-listen. Attendees at the event weren’t limited to fans only, however — Notable guests included Amber Wagner, Dytto, Karen Civil and Roshon Fegan, among others.

The YouTube team hosted a series of culturally-driven events celebrating Black History Month, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Pride and Hispanic Heritage Month.

Each event was designed to authentically represent the various cultures highlighted in order to provide a highly-curated and engaging experience for those creators identifying with given communities.

An opportunity to celebrate culture and socialize in well-informed environment, the events brought dance-fueled evenings to the creators, YouTube executives, and ‘Googlers’ who attended.

For the first time, in 2019, Google sponsored the Mom 2.0 Conference, extending its reach and impact into the parent community through its Be Internet Awesome curriculum. Over the two day conference, Google created an immersive maze experience that guided attendees through their 5 pillars of internet safety with interactive digital activities and hands on exercises. At each touchpoint, guests educated themselves on how best to navigate the internet through parental lens and took home printed materials to share these tips with their families and friends.

Upon completion of the maze, guests snapped a photo with the 5 pillars and were treated to hot drinks, fresh juice and donuts along with exclusive Google Mom 2.0 tote bags and water bottles.

For Instagram’s first-ever festival activation, the #ShareBlackStories team brought a larger-than-life photo moment to the grounds. The 20-foot by 10-foot activation was designed with thorough research on African artistic and literary motifs and elements in mind. Using noble materials like faux-marble and faux-gold, the regal columns and pedestals set the regal scene for guests to wear their crowns proudly.

The backdrop itself - the rolling pink hills of an endless desert. The sky - a backlit sun and illuminated fluffy clouds. The muses - the show-stopping attendees clad in avant garde festival costumes.

LOS ANGELES, CA | 2016 (LAUNCH OF SEMI-PERMANENT STRUCTURE)

The Samsung Galaxy Studio in Los Angeles located on The Green at the Americana was originally a semi-permanent structure intended to be torn down after a 3-month period. After three consecutive months of daily success in consumer visits, in-store purchases, and community engagement, the Samsung team decided to open a permanent Samsung Studio at the Americana in an existing available retail space.

The Studio was home to four activation areas that highlighted various technologies featured in the Samsung suite of devices, ranging from phones to tablets to 360-cameras. Some interactive elements included: VR station, 360-camera tunnel, and AR wall.

Curated programming included concerts featuring artists such as Cold War Kids and Chromeo, weekly yoga sessions, a photo studio for pets, and photo-tours of nearby attractions, to name just a few.

Hosted by AMPR and Oronde Garrett, “Celebrate the Culture II” brought the biggest names in the Black TV & film community to Avenue nightclub for the evening. DJ Meel curated the soundtrack for the night, and guests enjoyed a Patron mini-bottle toast together at midnight.

Notable attendees included Zendaya, Regina King, Taraji P. Henson, Jordyn Woods, and Neicy Nash.

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 Tour featured a set of four pods that featured the Samsung Care Team, a retail team, an interactive photo moment, a VR experience, and a slo-mo video moment.

The tour enabled consumers in several major markets to get hands-on experience with the new device and its innovative features. Partnering with local businesses, the pop-up activation engaged with the local community while building relationships with consumers.

Sprite kicked off BET Awards weekend with an event that celebrated the “Thirst for Yours” campaign. The event featured a panel discussion with rapper Kodi Shane, rising fashion designer and current Clark Atlanta University student Seth Giscombe, and Sprite Way talent, who discussed their personal journeys and shared how Sprite has helped advance their careers.

“Thirst For Yours” builds on the March launch of Sprite Way, a community-powered Spotify playlist and podcast highlighting unsigned hip-hop and R&B talent, and the #GetVocal campaign launched last fall, which invites fans to download a custom beat created by Izze the Producer and record a 60-second topical freestyle to share on social media. Stefan Miller, senior brand manager, Sprite, called “Thirst for Yours” a modern-day evolution of the seminal “Obey Your Thirst” campaign, which promoted self-expression and individuality.

To celebrate the launch of Jemele Hill’s podcast “Unbothered”, Spotify hosted select media for an intimate dinner at the Jungle Room in New York. With a photo moment mirroring the artist’s podcast staging set-up and a menu curated for the evening, the event gave an ultra-custom experience for attendees. The intimate evening was complete with a live musical performance from Ari Lennox. Guests also went home with custom gift boxes including a customized Carharrt crew-neck sweatshirt.

Every year, ADCOLOR hosts its community to a weekend full of acknowledgments, awards, and year-ahead planning. In 2019, the Team Dinner and After Party were the two most highly anticipated celebratory events of the weekend. The Team Dinner kicked off the celebratory weekend at Rossoblu in Downtown LA, complete with a live DJ, photo moment, custom cookie station, and award ceremony. It gave the team an intimate evening to connect and take a breath before the busy weekend ahead. The After Party wrapped the weekend with an opportunity for guests to leave it all on the dance floor at this massive event. Guests were treated to a custom dessert wall, photo moment, and live, surprise drum-line performance.

During the week leading up to the New York Marathon, Peloton hosted a series of events, including digitally-led yoga classes and meditation sessions, at their Madison Avenue storefront. In an effort to provide preparative yet celebratory programming for those participating in the run as well those cheering on the sidelines. The series’ Rejuvenation Day intended on bringing a moment of tranquility before the demanding weekend ahead. Fresh, plant-based treats and libations decked the Happy Hour bar while artists explored the customization station and recovery lounge. Coveted Peloton running-hats were painted by LA-based artist Chris Rocket, allowing each guest to walk away with a unique piece of functional art. In the recovery lounge, guests were able to experience the innovative systems behind the MOTIVNY team, including the Normatec compression pants and the Hypervolt massage gun.

On Sunday, guests were invited to join the Peloton Cheer Zone where Peloton instructors Matt Wilpers and Becs Gentry both led chants and kept the energy high, even in the New York cold. Brand Ambassadors distributed custom-branded Peloton merch and a local Brooklyn drum-line brought the entire street alive with a show-stopping set.

After cheering on the Peloton family on the sidelines, the community was invited to join the racers for a celebratory afternoon at the store. DJ Tiff McFierce and KingMoniki kept the party going all day long while guests snapped photos at the photo moment and enjoyed another day of recovery with the MOTIVNY team.

For the launch of Raphael Saadiq’s album “Jimmy Lee”, Spotify hosted select industry guests to enjoy an intimate listening party, at Harun Coffee in Leimert Park. The coffee shop and art gallery featured several high-ticket pieces all created by Black artists. Guests were able to make custom pins featuring images from the album art and coffees were served in Ember mugs.

Samsung’s Cannes 2017 presence included “Atelier Samsung”, a collaborative space featuring interactive sessions and seminars that showcased the power of creativity and immersed visitors in Samsung’s mobile ecosystem.

Atelier Samsung’s engaging slate of events included a session featuring YouTube sensation Casey Neistat, director Spike Jonze and visual artist Shantell Martin, who discussed the future of content creation and how Samsung’s products empower creators to produce dynamic material.

Alongside the events the studio allowed Samsung to showcase the power of the Creators – a series of films shot by YouTubers solely using the power of the Galaxy S8 video functions. Led by Casey Neistat with Karlie Kloss, Jesse Wellens, Marques Brownlee, Raya Encheva, Akilah Hughes and Davin Graham, these creators filmed all around Cannes to capture unique content.
